Life with Spencer Hixon
Today's Podcast and short as can be
Today, I chatted with Spencer Hixon. This is who he is:
I am a neurodivergent author with a lot of interesting experiences: I'm an identical twin, an Eagle Scout, a former board game reviewer, a narrator, a musician, a freemason, and a stay-at-home dad. I've traveled to Hawaii, Alaska, Barcelona, Baden-Baden, Nantes, London, and Brighton. I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was 5 or so. I had been working in my first book for 11 years. When COVID shut the world down, my ADHD took over and I couldn't do anything, so I decided that I wasn't going to accept incompetence in myself any longer. A healthy body makes a healthy mind, so I hired a personal trainer at the age of 40. I tried out several new medication for ADHD, and during that process learned that have been suffering from depression for my of my life. I got a therapist and medication for that as well. I forced myself to keep the TV off. Then I finished my book in a month. I wrote the second book in 5 months, and the third book in 5 months as well. I've run 2 successful Kickstarter campaigns to promote my novels (2 are currently complete and available). I'm working on an animation project with my twin as well as several more books and short stories. I also record my own audiobooks.
